Telemedicine is a cost-effective, convenient way to receive medical care for non-emergency conditions.

Conditions we can see for virtual urgent care include:

Respiratory conditions

  • Sinus infection

  • Influenza

  • Mild asthma exacerbations

  • Runny nose, congestion, sore throat, and cough

  • Seasonal allergies

Gastrointestinal and Urinary Conditions

  •  urinary tract infections

  • Vaginal yeast infections

  • Abdominal pain (might need further evaluation depending on severity).

  • Constipation and/or diarrhea possibly

  • Gastroenteritis

  • Heartburn or acid reflux

Eye, ear and mouth conditions

  • Canker or cold sore

  • Pink eye

  • True eye pain should be evaluated in person as should acute visual disturbances.

Headaches

  • Limited, based on the patient's history, symptoms, and examination. Not associated with fever, acute trauma, visual disturbances focal tingling, numbness, or loss of function.

Skin and scalp problems

  • Acne

  • Athlete’s foot

  • Diaper rash

  • Eczema

  • Fungal skin infection (tinea), e.g. jock itch, ringworm, etc.

  • Head lice

  • Impetigo

  • Insect or animal bites

  • Minor burns, cuts, and rashes

  • Poison ivy/oak

  • Recurrent genital herpes (not new onset)

  • Scabies

  • Shingles

  • Skin abscesses or wounds

  • Skin candidiasis (yeast infection of the skin)

  • Skin irritation (contact dermatitis).​

Bone and joint conditions

  • Arthritis 

  • Gout

  • Focal bony, joint or soft tissue pains not associated with a fever, acute trauma or a sudden onset.

  • Minor back pain 

  • Sprains and strains- *May require X-rays or an in-person exam.

Mental Health

  • Uncomplicated depression and anxiety (patients with suicidal, homicidal, audio/visual hallucination should immediately go to the Emergency Room (ER), or call 911.                                                    Other resources include: 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

Medications and refills

  • Refills for short-term chronic condition medication not to include narcotics, benzo-diazepam or stimulants.  if the patient is visiting the area or can’t get in to see their PCP.

Travel medication

  • Malaria prevention

  • Motion sickness prevention.

We do not prescribe Narcotics (examples: Tylenol 3, tramadol, hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine) or Benzodiazepines (examples: valium, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax etc.). or Stimulants (examples: Phentermine, modafinil, Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, Focalin etc.).

If you have symptoms of a heart attack or stroke or feel that you are in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room (ER) immediately. other symptoms which are not exhaustive are listed below:

GO TO CLOSEST EMERGENCY ROOM OR CALL 911 FOR; BUT NOT LIMITED TO BELOW SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:

Some signs of a stroke include:

  • Sudden weakness or numbness: In the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body

  • Sudden confusion: Or trouble speaking or understanding speech

  • Sudden vision problems: Such as dimness or loss of vision in one or both eyes

  • Sudden balance or coordination problems: Such as dizziness or trouble walking

  • Sudden severe headache: With no known cause

Some signs of heart attack include:

  • CHEST DISCOMFORT: Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.

  • DISCOMFORT IN OTHER AREAS OF THE UPPER BODY: Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.

  • SHORTNESS OF BREATH: with or without chest discomfort.

  • OTHER SIGNS: may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

Some signs of Pulmonary embolism (PE) include:

  • Sudden shortness of breath

  • Chest pain, which can feel sharp and worsen when breathing in

  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting

  • Coughing, which may produce blood 

Other symptoms include:

  • Anxiety or apprehension "feeling of impending doom"

  • Irregular heartbeat or palpitations

  • Sweating

  • Low blood pressure

  • Stomach pain

  • Back pain

Some signs of Ruptured cerebral aneurysm include:

  • severe headache with rapid onset, neck pain and stiffness.

  •  increasing drowsiness.

  • paralysis.

  • seizures.

  • impaired speech.

  • visual problems.

  • An unruptured cerebral aneurysm may have no symptoms related to it at all and may be discovered incidentally.

Note: All elderly falls with head trauma should be assessed in an ER, due to risk of bleeding especially if on blood thinning medication. â€‹
